With a smile on my face
And a voice dripping thick with honey
I say thank you.
Once you leave,
The mask breaks and falls away.
I wonder to myself,
Is this what we’ve come to?
Has mankind fallen that low?
That they feel the need to not be kind to those trying to help them?
Has mankind truly lost all form of manners?
Have we become so self-absorbed and so selfish
That we don’t pay attention to the questions that are asked?
That we don’t pay attention to the people around us?
Has mankind’s intelligence dropped so low
That we can’t comprehend a simple question?
Has mankind grown so angry that we strike back

Children Learn What They Live by Dorothy Law Nolte
If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.

Can you see my wings?
That are wrapped
In darkness
In this darkness
They rip my wings.
Those hands on my wings are tightly wrapped.
Strong are on my waist are wrapped.
He came from the darkness
And like me, has wings.
With our wings furled and your arms wrapped around me,
Will you fade into the darkness with me?
I am lost
I wonder if I'll be found
I hear a bugle sounding off, so lonely and sad
I see a valley covered in nothing but darkness
I want people to see me and guide me out of that valley
I am lost
I pretend not to hear my heart break
I feel cold hands ripping things away from me
I can feel that darkness, so cold, so misty
I worry that no one will save me from this darkness that always surrounds me
I cry out for fear of being alone terrifies me
I am lost
I understand the world can be cold and cruel
I cry out "someone find me!"
I dream that someone will find and free me from this world
I try to touch the light but am repelled,

Life is like muddy water
When you stare at the surface from above
You're clouded by mystery.
As the muddy water recedes
And as you grow older
The water becomes clearer
And so does your mind.
And when that muddy water covers your feet
You realize why you were sent here.
Like the muddy water
You slowly recede into the ground
Below the shallow water.
Your spirit and soul disappear
Along with the last muddy water.
That day that you left was the day my world broke.
Every tear filled with memories of you and me.
When you were carried down the aisle,
The ground broke beneath my feet.
And you weren't there to catch me.
When we laid you into the ground
I thought that I would die.
Clouds drifted apart and light shown down on us.
Can you forgive every harsh word I spoke?
Will you still guide me from where you are?
I want you here with me, but I'll wait.
I'll wait until my time is up,
I'll pass through those golden gates
And see you standing without the sickness that plagued you
When you were with me.
Oh how we'll laugh and cry and hold each other tight

The Girl in the Mirror
Who is that girl in the mirror?
With one white wing and one black wing?
Who is that girl in the mirror?
With one white wing and one black wing,
And a kind but sad smile?
Who is that girl in the mirror?
With one white wing and one black wing,
A kind but sad smile,
And lonely eyes?
Who is that girl in the mirror?
With one white wing and one black wing,
A kind but sad smile,
Lonely eyes,
And wearing a tattered grey dress?
I know that girl in the mirror
With one white wing and one black wing,
A kind but sad smile,
Lonely eyes,
Wearing a tattered grey dress.
Because,
I am that girl in the mirror.
*No soldier wants a war.
They only give their lives to it.
Wars are started by you and me,
By bankers and politicians,
Excitable women, newspaper editors,
Clergymen who are expacifits,
And congressmen with vertebrae of putty.
The youngsters in the street,
Poor kids,
Pay the price.*
The price that war brings,
Is to take the lives of soldiers,
And the lives of the innocent.
The lives of those that hate war.
As the innocent die they wonder,
"Why me?"
And those poor kids,
Shake with fear,
At every passing moment.
At every gun blast,
And every bomb shell.
And the headstones
Of the unknown children
Are just a boulder.
I live alone.
I am an empty shell.
My world is dark
And my thoughts never stop.
My grades are low.
I'm always in a corner
Dancing to strange music.
I am depressed.
I am forgetful and stupid.
I am in pain.
I have survived death to many times.
Does God think it's funny,
Toying with me so?
I am losing site of my reasons to live.
I've tried to stay above
But I've only succeeded in falling deeper.
You are an ignorant fool.
My smiles only hide my growing fears and pain.
You'll never understand,
So just let me go.
Let me sink deeper.
Let me be swallowed
For I won't be missed.
Oh lovely stone angel,
Who are you protecting?
Oh stone angel,
You look so sad.
What happened?
Oh stone angel,
You have your wings unfurled.
Are you about to fly up and meet who rests below you?
Oh stone angel,
Raise up.
Raise up and tell who rests below you that you still care.
Bring that person into your arms
And tell them they're still loved.
And tell that person that I said hello.
For I will arise soon and join them in eternal light someday.
With a smile on my face
And a voice dripping thick with honey
I say thank you.

Your head fell against the dirtied ground of the alleyway, crimson blood dripping from wounds underneath your shaggy (h/c) fur. Lifting your paw, you saw a splinter and used your teeth to pull it out before picking yourself up and laying on an old paper.
Fearing for any other ally cats, you stayed where you could observe the entire ally easily but also, provide an easy escape in case something were to go wrong.
Lifting your head weakly, you tried licking the blood off a gash on your side and clean off the cut. There was a crash of metal, sending you to all fours with every hair sticking up at end.

Hi everyone. I have something I'd like to say. I have been asked by a user (the name of said user will not be said) if they could use one of my poems to make a short fiction. I do not mind if anyone wants to use my poems or lullaby for one shots or short stories or fictions AS LONG as you ask me first and give me proper credit. Please please please PLEASE ask me first before you decided to use my poems or my lullabies. Thank you!!
